This inspection examined how the Home Office’s ‘Adults at Risk’ process was working. The inspection was commissioned by the Home Secretary in response to a recommendation made by Stephen Shaw CBE in his report ‘Assessment of government progress in implementing the report on the welfare in detention of vulnerable persons’, which was published on 24 July 2018.
Recommendations include: ‘The Home Office should consider the need for a separate DSO on LGBI detainees. Anti-bullying policies should include explicit reference to LGBTI detainees’ (P129).
